Welcome to the 1920s and 1930s!

Day 14 - November 18/22 (Entering the Great Depression)

Today we explored the Stock Market Crash of 1929! We did a Stock Market Simulation where you got to choose stocks to invest your "money" in in hopes of increasing your wealth. We looked at the idea of Buying on Margin and how credit contributed to the economic downturn in the 1930s. We also used a bit of class time in Block F to work on our Capzle projects - remember they are due by email to kac88@uvic.ca on Saturday night!

Day 13 - November 16/17 (Work Block)
Check out the Capzles project rubric here -

NOTE: The deadline for the Capzle project has been moved to Saturday night!

Day 12 - November 14/15 (Roles of Women)

Today we will be creating annotated timelines that explore how the roles of women changed throughout the early part of the 20th century. This project will involve reading the information Ms. Campbell provides, using your textbook, researching on the internet, finding photos, and finally putting all your text, images, and any other documents together using Capzles - an online timeline tool. Check out these fantastic examples from a Grade 9 Geography unit!

Here is an INCOMPLETE example Ms. Campbell made about changing women's roles:
